I’m really excited to be over today and am sharing an excerpt from my new release, The Medic of Brighton Creek. I’m so happy you enjoyed it, and hope you come over to my blog soon. **grins** In this snippet Mikayla is babbling because she doesn’t want to go back to the city and her job. She wants to stay a little longer but she isn’t voicing that well. She is in the bed and breakfast that her two good friends, Bonnie and Brody (ah, the newlyweds) own. Sam is in the kitchen as well and she is all jumbled up emotion wise.

“… I was on my way out. I’ve got to finish packing up and all after I help Bonnie, of course.” She zeroed in on the fridge and took out creamer to avoid the eyes Sam was probably giving her. If he knew she wanted an excuse to stick around, he’d find one—hell, he’d probably invent one if needed. “I have to get a cab to the bus station to get to the train station, and then a cab to the rental place sometime before I’m due back at my job. Big important plans, you know!” she babbled as she moved around the kitchen.
Her humor sounded forced instead of sarcastic, and she hoped neither man read into it. They both knew her so well. Sam stood to refill his mug but Mikayla quickly took care of it. She went to hand him the sugar but he moved and she awkwardly pressed herself against his chest. His shirt felt soft against the tiny triangle of exposed skin on her V-neck shirt and she longed to run her nails over it. Mikayla looked up to say “excuse me,” but instead kissed him hard.
What the fuck am I doing?
He returned the kiss, although he appeared flustered at the public display, so she quickly pulled away and stepped around him. “What was that for?”
“I’m the reason for the stunning reviews. I’m the sugar in their coffee.” She winked, mortified at how worked up she got around him, then hurried out.
